Guitarist and composer Charlie Hunter will appear on KHUM’s Upstage Live series today at 1pm, airing live from Robert Goodman Wines Tasting Room. There are no more tickets left.

Hunter has created his own musical vocabulary using a custom 7-string guitar. [Music nerds: check out that fretboard.]

Though he plays bass and lead guitar simultaneously, he shuns technical showboating. His ‘in the pocket’ playing has earned him equal appreciation in the jazz, hip-hop, and improvisational worlds.

Hunter and drummer Scott Amendola headline tonight at the Van Duzer theater (tickets) in support of their new CD, “Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead”.

Upstage Live is KHUM’s ongoing Q+A / performance series, aired and streamed live in front of a studio audience.

Previous guests include ALO, John Butler Trio, Catie Curtis, and Mason Jennings.
