From the Humboldt County Drug Task Force:

On 07-31-2012 at about 0845 hours the Humboldt County Drug Task Force assisted by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office served two search warrants in the Garberville area that are related to each other. The first search warrant was served at a residence located in the 300 block of Oakridge Drive, Redway. Officers located an indoor marijuana growing operation in the shop area located behind the residence. Officers seized 256 growing marijuana plants that were about 6 inches in height each. Officers seized 3 rifles and about $12,000 dollars in cash. No one was at home at the time of the search warrant.

The second search warrant was served on a parcel of property located off Cannick Creek Road, Garberville. Officers located 3 greenhouses on the property and seized 1,074 growing marijuana plants that ranged in height from 2 foot to 5 foot. Officers located one subject on the property who they identified as Jesus Vega age 45 from Fortuna. Vega was released on scene with a notice to appear for cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana.

There are other suspects associated in this investigation.

This case is still under investigation by the Humboldt County Drug Task Force.
