UPDATE 5:25 P.M.:  The suspect and the victim in the Hyampom shooting have been identified. Dean Compton of Hyampom is the victim and Brandon Trammel, age 33, has been arrested. He has been charged not only with Murder but Attempt to Commit Murder.

According to the Trinity Co. Sheriff’s Office, on October 1, 2012 at approximately 7:30 P.M., they received a 911 call regarding a shooting in Hyampom.

Today, October 2,  Trinity County Sheriff’s Office along with Redding Police Department and Shasta County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at the house of Brandon Trammel in Redding, CA. Trammel was questioned by Investigators and has been arrested and is being transported to the Trinity County Jail in Weaverville, CA.

The investigation is ongoing and further details will be released at a later time.

Trinity County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a shooting in the Hyampom area. They say they are investigating it as a homicide but won’t release the name of the victim until family has been notified.
