On December 31, 2012, officers with the Fortuna Police Department were able to identify the suspect in the armed robbery that occurred at the Best Western Motel in Fortuna on December 30, 2012.

The suspect, Samuel Rogers (age 21 of Hydesville) was taken into custody by the Fortuna Police Department during a traffic stop at about 8:30 p.m.

Rogers was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for Armed Robbery as well as additional drug related charges.
