UPDATE 12:26: The has issued pictures of the bank robbery suspect and the following press release.

On 06-27-2013, approximately 10:03 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an armed robbery which just occurred at the Bank of America, McKinleyville. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Dispatch center was advised by witnesses that the suspect was dropping money as he fled the bank and was armed with a handgun.
When deputies arrived on scene they met with witnesses who told them the suspect entered the bank and immediately began waving a black revolver around, pointing it at the tellers and customers while telling them it was a Bank Robbery. The suspect jumped over the counter and loaded up a bag that he brought with him with the banks money. After loading up the bag, the suspect fled the bank on foot, westbound on Hiller Avenue dropping money as he fled. Witnesses saw the suspect get into a vehicle being driven by another person. The suspect was seen by witnesses getting into a white Nissan Pathfinder or Xterra type vehicle with tinted rear windows. It was being driven by a second suspect. The vehicle was last seen westbound on Hiller Avenue.

An immediate broadcast of the Bank Robbery suspect and vehicle description was sent to all local law enforcement agencies. Law Enforcement Units from all Humboldt County Agencies immediately began searching for the vehicle and suspect. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) responded and is assisting with the investigation.

Bank of America has provided security photos of the suspect.

Suspect description: Black Male Adult, 5-9 to 5-10” tall, around 30 years of age, wearing black tennis shoes with thin white strips on the arches, grey sweat pants, black sweat shirt, red under shirt, grey cotton style gloves, aviator style sunglasses, white bandana across face and a short cropped mustache to lip line.
