Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:

0n 11-10-2013, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a call from an Orleans man regarding his truck being stolen by two male suspects. The 47 year old victim reported he was at his residence in the 100 block of Thunder Mountain Road, Orleans when two males pulled up in a blue Toyota pickup truck to his gate and parked. The driver of the truck met the victim at his gate. The driver of the truck told the victim he was looking for, “Edwin or Edward”.  The victim told the driver no one lived there by that name. The man apologized and got back into his truck and the men left..

Approximately 30 minutes later the same two men returned on foot. The man who was the driver of the truck removed a semi auto handgun from his pocket then demanded money from the victim and called him, “Scott” .  The victim told the man that was not his name and he did not have money. The men asked to enter the victim’s home, at which time the victim ran to a neighbor’s residence and had the neighbor call 911.

When the victim was at the neighbor’s home he heard his truck start up. The victim ran back to his residence in time to see the suspects drive his Silver 2000 Dodge pickup truck through his gate, knocking the gate off its hinges.

The suspects are described as follows:

  • Male, dark skinned, possibly Native American or Hispanic, 30’s, approximately 5’8” tall, approximately 140 lbs, wearing Blue jeans and a gray hooded sweater.
  • White male adult, approximately 5’ 11” tall, approximately 180 lbs, wearing a desert camo pattern hooded sweatshirt, possibly in his 30’s

Stolen Vehicle:  Silver 2000 Dodge Pickup Truck, California Plate 6E30340
