Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release

On 09-10-2013, approximately 3:30 p.m. an inmate working on a work crew at the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Wood lot was discovered missing. The inmate is James Franklin Cain, who was serving a sentence on drug charges. Cain was working at the yard with other inmates when he was discovered missing. He is described as follows:

James Franklin Cain, 37 year old white male, 5’ 7” tall, 180 lbs, short brown hair, balding on top, hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a white t- shirt, blue jeans, black boots. He resides in Eureka.

Cain was serving a 180 day sentence and was scheduled for release on November 16, 2013. A be-on-the-lookout for Cain has been placed to all law enforcement agencies. Additional charges are being sought.
