According to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, yesterday’s large law enforcement presence in the Alderpoint area was related to a 2009 missing person case. Robert Joseph Tennison was last seen in the Rancho Sequoia area after he reportedly went there in January of 2009 to get paid for a construction job.

On 03-12-2014 at about 0900 hours the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the State of California Department of Justice served a search warrant on a residence and parcel of property located in the 1000 block of Rancho Sequoia Road, Alderpoint. The search warrant was related to the disappearance of Robert Joseph Tennison age 42, who was reported as a missing person on 03-19-2009 to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office considers the disappearance of Tennison as suspicious and are concerned that Tennison may be the victim of foul play. The search warrant was served on the property in Rancho Sequoia after new information was received in the investigation.

Several items of evidence where seized by the Department of Justice to be tested a later date for any forensic clues related to Tennison’s disappearance.
