From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On 05-18-2015 at about 11:58 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call regarding a shooting that had just occurred at a residence off Moon Lane, Hoopa. The male victim age 17 had called 9-1-1 to report that his 19 year old brother, Sebastian Xavier Christopher Ferris had shot at him with a AR-15 rifle. The Hoopa Valley Tribal Police Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office on this investigation.

When the officers contacted the victim he was away from the residence off Moon Lane. The victim stated his brother, Sebastian and himself got into a physical fight with each other over an ownership of a pair of sunglasses. The victim stated he won the fight. After the fight the victim said Sebastian then went into his bedroom and emerged carrying an AR-15 rifle. The victim said Sebastian began shooting at him with the rifle. The victim said he took off running and hid in the brush off Moon Lane. The victim said he felt like his brother was hunting him. The victim was not injured in the shooting.

After speaking to the victim, Officers went to the residence and contact Sebastian, who was detained without incident. Officers located an AR-15 rifle inside of Sebastian’s bedroom, which was seized as evidence. Officers located (6) six spent, .223 caliber casing lying on the ground near the residence.

Sebastian Ferris was arrested by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office for assault with a deadly weapon. Ferris was transported and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility in Eureka. Ferris’s bail was set at $100,000 dollars.
