These California market squid (Doryteuthis opalescens) are hatching from eggs we found washed up on the beach in Humboldt County, California on October 24, 2015. The one hatchling seems to be having trouble, and it looks like the other two are attacking it - but maybe not…?. The troubled squid inked at the end and eventually got away.
