Byron Steve Hostler III died at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka, California, February 2, 2016.

Born December 29, 1983 in Eureka, Byron spent most of his life growing up in Hoopa California. Byron was a Hoopa Tribal member and member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints. He attended College of the Redwoods. He was intelligent, loving and often silly. He was loved and will be missed dearly.

Byron is survived by his parents, his father Byron Steve Hostler Jr. and mother Lorraine Lynn Lara, brothers Jasper Hostler IV, Valentino Luna, Ozzy Hostler, step-brothers Robert Cordero, Leonard McCullough, sisters Kipoon Hostler, Kinsa:an Hostler, step-sister Samantha O’Neal, maternal grandfather Walt Lara Sr. (Blacksnake), uncles Walt Lara Jr, William Lara, Richard McClellan, aunts Elizabeth Lara-O’rourke, Roberta Lara, Keduescha Colegrove, Kishan Lara-Cooper, Callie Lara, Patricia Joseph, Holly Frederick, Cheri Buck.

Byron is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Friedel (Mickey) Lara and paternal grandfather Byron Hostler Sr.

Viewing will be 4-8 p.m. February 11th at Sanders Funeral Home, 1835 E St., Eureka, California. Services will be February 12th 11-1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2806 Dolbeer St. Eureka, California. Viewing at the church will be 11-noon and the service will be noon–1 p.m. Burial will be at the Hostler cemetery in Hoopa. Reception at Hoopa Firehouse.
