Yesterday in Eureka it stormed and poured all night, then, sometime around midmorning, the clouds parted and sunshine beamed down on the first spring day of the year. Cats lounged on porches. People set out their hammocks.

You might be fooled into thinking today will follow the same pattern — soggy night, sunny day. But our friends at the National Weather Service believe it will not be like that.
