McKinleyville residents may have noticed the rumblings of six military attack helicopters chuffing through Humboldt County airspace minutes ago.

Humboldt County Airport Director of Aviation Cody Roggatz told the Outpost that six Apache attack helicopters are currently landed at ACV and should be taking off again any minute now.

“As of right now, their plan is to fuel and go,” Roggatz said. “So they should be out shortly.”

Avid Outpost reader William Startare shared this video of the helicopters interrupting his round of golf at the Beau Pre Golf Club moments before landing.

Roggatz said the helicopters came from Olympia, Washington and are headed south for military training.
