Earl Vernon Villier passed away at St Joseph’s Hospital in Eureka on June 27, 2020. He was 91 years old.

Vern is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ruth Villier, as well as his brother-in law Robert Neathery, sisters Sue Wolf and Patty Ryan, his step children; Ted (Alice) Schieberl, Jan Schieberl, Michael (Karen) Schieberl, Margie (David) Koltun and Lucie (Randy) Cobb. Vern also shared 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren with Ruth.

Vern served in the Army during the conflict in Korea. He became a mechanic and worked for Isaacson’s Motors for 30 years, starting out as a mechanic and ending up in sales. He retired from Isaccson’s shortly after his marriage to Ruth in 1993. Vern and Ruth both volunteered for many years with the Arcata Police Department. Vern also volunteered with the Sheriffs Department, working mostly in Blue Lake.

Vern was a good and loving man, always generous with his time and his smile. He will be sorely missed by his and Ruth’s extended family and friends. A memorial service will be planned in the future.
