Major-Injury Car Crash on Highway 299; Victim Airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Redding
At least one person was airlifted by helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Redding after suffering major injuries in a traffic collision on Highway 299 in Trinity County this afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident report, the crash occurred shortly before 1:21 p.m., between Burnt Ranch and Big Bar near Swede Creek Road.
The victim was reportedly unconscious but still breathing when paramedics arrived on scene and has since been admitted to the hospital’s emergency room.
It’s unclear at this time what caused the crash or how many vehicles were involved.
