Tuesday, April 23

Not a lot going on in Humboldt this Tuesday. Oh, except a microcosm of the eternal battle for Humboldt’s musical soul. No big.

Tuesday’s two most noteworthy, off night offerings pit our county’s most indulged in styles — da reggae and da bluegrass — against one another. In this corner, New Zealand roots reggae band Katchafire will provide the offbeat rhythms and staccato chords for ears gathered at the Arcata Theatre Lounge. In the other corner, Colorado bluegrass band Head for the Hills will pile strings on top of strings for the foot tappers at Humboldt Brews.

The show that is better attended will determine, forevermore, which musical style is superior. CHOOSE WISELY, HUMCO.

(Note: If you would like to weigh in on the merits of either musical genre, the LoCO Lowdown now features the ability to comment on any event. See below. Play nice, friends.)
