Humboldt’s Saturday is Packed, So You’re Getting Your Lowdown Early

If you can’t find something to do this Humboldt Saturday, you will have all your future Saturdays taken away. Protect yourself from a life of Fridays transitioning into Sundays below:

  • Develop a love for “Ozark Stomp” at Humboldt Brews with the driving Ben Miller Band, Saturday’s undisputed musical champion. Get a sample in the YouTube clip below.
  • Be a part of regional comedy history. Savage Henry hosts their second show in as many nights, this one a recording session at Six Rivers Brewery for Oregon (and sometimes Humboldt) comedian Ray McMillin among others. Ha.
  • How did Humboldt not have a Neil Young cover band already? Our affliction is cured by the debut of Shakey at The Alibi.
  • Veteran standup Will Durst returns to Humboldt for an encore of his one-man show It’s BoomeRaging: From LSD to OMG, this time at the Ferndale Repertory Theatre. Listen to his recent chat with KHUM’s Cliff Berkowitz here.
  • How can we not mention The Huff? Your congressman, Jared Huffman, is hosting a little town hall-style get together to discuss veterans health care and benefits (appropriately at the Eureka Veterans Hall). More here
  • Are you ready for Humboldt Roller Derby’s 2015 season? The action  begins next week, but the growing organization is starting their year with their first ever Kickoff Dinner and Skater Meet and Greet at the Redwood Acres Turf Club. Hug your heroes before they’re bruised!

And that’s not even everything! Scroll around below, you kooks!
