(VIDEO) Before You See ‘Em at HumBrews Tonight, Watch Portland Cello Project Bow It’s Way Through T. Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’

In case you missed LoCO’s Facebook announcement yesterday, do note that “Weird Al” Yankovic is returning to Humboldt this fall and VIP tickets go on sale next week. Don’t say you didn’t know.

As far as tonight goes, all your friends who are not Eureka City Councilmember Marian Brady will be really impressed if you tell them you’re going to a cello-based musical performance. You can leave it there. It is not necessary to disclose you’ll be chugging IPAs at Humboldt Brews while head-bobbin’ along with the upbeat Portland Cello Project. The PCP mission is three-fold:

  • To bring the cello to places you wouldn’t normally hear it.
  • To play music you wouldn’t normally hear played on the cello.
  • To build bridges across all musical communities by bringing a diverse assortment of musical collaborators on stage with them.

For example, here’s PCP’s cover of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” Allow yourself some midweek sugar.
