Friday Lowdown: Arcata Wins Friday

Well this is easy. Should you want to be around throngs of humans, your Humboldt Friday will center around Arcata. The monthly return of Arts!Arcata will draw the early-evening crowds. Jam bands at the Jam, Trekkie gatherings and drag queen lip sync tournament finals aim to keep them there.

Of course, the largest celebrity within Humboldt’s borders today will be sardonic best-selling author David Sedaris who will deliver his social critiques from the Van Duzer Theatre stage. Did you miss out on $55 tickets? Well, here’s some audio of Sedaris reading a section of his latest book Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls.
