Thursday Lowdown: Planned Parenthood Benefit, Guy Who Rode His Bike Around the World in Arcata Tonight

This Humboldt Thursday, let’s highlight a couple film screenings you could take your eyeballs to:

  • Richard’s Goat is hosting a Planned Parenthood benefit screening of She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry which profiles key figures and moments from the birth of the modern woman’s movement in the late 1960s and early ‘70s. Thankfully, since women no longer have to struggle for equality and everyone is cool with Planned Parenthood these days, there is no reason for you to see this. Trailer on the left, above.
  • Jamie Bianchini, spent eight years peddling a bicycle built for two around to 79 countries and inviting strangers to hop on for a ride. Today he’ll be at HumBrews in Arcata peddling his book, A Bicycle Built For Two Billion, as well as presenting a short film and other media chronicling his calf-swelling journeys. Trailer on the right, above.
