Flying Humboldt’s Colors

At the end of the day in Humboldt, there is a sweet phenomenon. Facebook blushes with the rosy shades of sunset as multiple photos are scattered onto the site showing the sky from Trinidad to Benbow from Hoopa to Whitethorn. Like some sort of oddly assorted gang, we show our colors—we live here and we’re proud of it!

Today, we’re flying Humboldt’s colors on the LoCO. This image was captured near the mouth of the Mad River by McKinleyville. The photographer is Matthew Ware (See more of his photography here and like his page to keep seeing his splendid images.) He’s a Humboldt native who is currently attending HSU.
