PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of the Resource and Referral Director, the Professional Development Specialist will plan, develop and delivers trainings to improve the knowledge, skills and practices of early education professionals. They will also recruit and provide training/technical assistance to individuals in order to enter and or stay in the child care field. This a full time position (37.5 hours/week)

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field; or Bachelor’s degree with at least 24 units of ECE or Child Development courses.

•Three (3) years of experience operating and/or providing direct service in a child care facility

•Experienced in teaching groups of adults and also providing one-on-one coaching

•Knowledge of business and child development aspects of licensed family child care homes and centers

REQUIREMENTS:

•Ability to pass a criminal background check

• Must possess a valid California driver’s license, current automobile insurance and vehicle for work

WAGE: Starts at $17.43 per hour.
