Stillwater Sciences seeks a highly motivated desktop support specialist to serve as a member of our IT department supporting an inter-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers working across seven physical offices. Due to the global pandemic we are occasionally using these offices, with most of our staff regularly working from home. We anticipate returning to the offices once state guidance allows.

The Junior IT Specialist will:
• Configure and install desktop and laptop computer systems and applications within the company
• Provide desktop/network support to all employees at both local and remote offices
• Assist with maintaining VOIP phone system
• Create training materials pertaining to computer troubleshooting and usage
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose hardware problems sometimes using remote access tools
• Resolve technical issues related to network interruptions
• Assist in the ongoing maintenance and future planning needs of the company’s desktop environment
• Assist in our migration to SharePoint Online
• Collaborate with existing vendors to evaluate the new technology that is available and make recommendations to IT Committee on using that technology
• Monitor the performance of the company’s desktop infrastructure and make suggestions for improving efficiency
• Evaluate applications and software patches for desktop applications to see if they will solve desktop issues

Qualified applicants should possess:
• 1‒3 years desktop/network support experience
• Demonstrated experience with prioritizing tasks and requests
• Excellent follow-through and customer service skills
• Organized and efficient approach
• Proven time-management skills
• Comfortable working in and assisting others through remote access software such as LogMeIn in addition to other remote access desktop programs
• Extensive experience working with Windows 10
• General understanding of networking technology (firewall, routers, switches)
• SharePoint Online experience a plus
• Experience installing and configuring computer systems and applications in an enterprise environment
• Proven ability to offer high-level desktop support in an enterprise environment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet the technology needs at Stillwater Sciences

Availability, Compensation, and Application Details:
• Part-time position, 20 hours per week
• Pay rate is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
