Public Health Officer

The Public Health Officer is responsible for providing oversight and enforcement of public health regulations and developing public health policy for the Yurok Tribe, including for planning, organizing and directing public health programs. They lead in program planning components of preparedness and response efforts related to bioterrorism, communicable disease occurrence and outbreaks, and other public health emergencies; provides professional coordination with Indian Health Services (IHS), County Public Health Programs, California Rural Indian Health Board (CRIHB), United Indian Health Services (UIHS) and UIHS clinics; and Directs Communicable Disease Control, Tuberculosis Control, STD Control and a wide range of public health activities and performs other duties as required.
