The award-winning marimbist, Eriko Daimo, is a driving force in today’s generation of young artists. She has won top prizes in numerous competitions, including 1st prizes at the International Marimba Competition 2004 in Belgium, Japan International League of Artists Competition, Japan PAS 20th Annual Percussion Solo Competition 2004, and Japan Soloist Music Competition. 

Her recent performances include concerto performances with Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Magdeburg Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany, Melrose Symphony Orchestra, Amarillo Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Nipponika, and recital tours in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Croatia, Spain, France, Mexico, Belgium, Japan and the U.S.  Furthermore, she has give recitals and masterclasses in some of today’s most recognized festivals, including the International Marimba Festival in Minneapolis, the 6th and 8th Festival Internacional de Marimbistas in Mexico, 9eme festival des Journees de la Percussion in Paris, Universal Marimba Festival in Belgium, The Power of Drum Festival in New York, KOSA International Music Festival in Vermont, PercuFesta in Spain, Zeltsman Marimba Festival in Boston, International League of Artists Marimba Festival in Tokyo, and PASIC.   

Also, she has presented concerts and masterclasses in music institutions, including University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, New York University, Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, Malmo Academy of Music, San Francisco Conservatory, Colburn Conservatory, University of Michigan, University of North Texas, Midwestern State University, University of Illinois and etc. 

She served as a judge for the 50th Percussion Arts Society International Percussion Solo Competition 2011,  PAS Marimba Competition in NYC 2012, Majaoja Percussion Competition in Finland 2012, 51st Percussion Arts Society International Percussion Solo Competition 2012.  

Born in Kagoshima, Japan, Ms. Daimo began her musical studies at age five on the piano. She started studying the marimba when she entered high school in 1997, and went on to study at the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music and the Boston Conservatory. 

Based in New York, Ms. Daimo is an endorser ofMarimba One and Vic Firth.
