Greg Barris is a staple in New York’s downtown stand-up scene and is the creator of Heart Of Darkness: a psychedelic showcase of comedy, live music and fringe scientists that has been a frequent Time Out New York critic’s pick, much loved by BrooklynVegan and hailed as ‘Excellent’ by The New Yorker. Comedians who have appeared on Heart of Darkness include Reggie Watts, Fred Armisen, Janeane Garofalo and Jim Gaffigan. Karl Hess is a person & stand-up comedian, writer, host and actor who lives in Los Angeles. He is the only person ever to do all of those things. He enjoys tacos and leisure. Karl has performed at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, SXSW, San Francisco Sketchfest, The Bridgetown Comedy Festival, the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in Atlanta at which he was a finalist, the High Plains Comedy Festival in Denver and numerous others whose inclusion might render this biographical blurb unwieldy and verbose, which, let’s be honest, nobody here has time for. He has been featured on TruTV, FUSE, AXS TV, numerous national commercials, written for MTV and VICE, was a host of the Elite Daily Show on the go90 network, and he plays regularly at the top shows in LA, as well as all across this great nation. His debut album Mannish Boy is available now from AST Records here. Karl is co-host of the comedy food podcast Yelling About Pâté along with Chef Joel Miller. Rolling Stone called Yelling About Pâté “your new favorite show,” and The A.V. Club hailed it as “a great listen.” Karl has also appeared on The Cooking Channel numerous times as a food expert and commentator. Karl is the host/creator of Amuse Bouche, a comedy/food/wine pop-up party that has featured comedians like Patton Oswalt and Nick Kroll and chefs like Tim Hollingsworth (Otium) and Teresa Montaño (Otoño).
