Scanner traffic indicates Yreka Command Center notifying Fortuna Command Center of a new fire in the Happy Camp area, requesting resource availability to respond. Meanwhile, smoke is lifting and “fire activity is picking up” on the Klamath NF fires.

Scanner feed for Fire and EMS calls only on the special-purpose Humboldt County Rural Fire and EMS - North feed, but the Hwy 96 area is very remote from the receiver and it’s mainly picking up only the dispatchers/coordination side and some aircraft traffic. Jumper Team 52 has just taken off from Redding with ETA of 11:30.

US Forest Service has several new fire starts along Hwy 96 area east of Somes Bar in both Six Rivers and Klamath Nat’l Forests. The “Ukonom Incident” near 41°35.778’, -123°29.178’ reported at 9:14 am as well as the Blue, Elk and Little incidents all reported shortly after the Ukonom. Air Attack plane is over the area and besides engines, they’ve ordered Smoke Jumpers if available.
