The patient was transported to Saint Joseph’s Hospital and all resources are clear and available

The Coast Guard helicopter is just now arriving on scene (over 1 hour after the order was placed). Peninsula IC was advising that they made it through the difficulty part of the carry out and was requesting Coast Guard be canceled just prior to their arrival overhead. Peninsula IC is communicating directly with the aircraft

Coast Guard is requesting they use CALCORD (156.075 MHz) for communication with the aircraft. Per Coast Guard, the aircraft has not yet taken off and they are still awaiting approval for the mission. The patient could be heard in the background when Peninsula IC was transmitting and sounds to be in significant pain

Peninsula IC is advising that he spoke directly with Coast Guard by phone and was advised that the aircraft is spooling up and will be taking off from the airport shortly. They will attempt to move the patient out to the ambulance in Arcata Fire’s Gator and the helicopter will be their contingency. They are unsure if they will be able to cross the dunes with the patient

The Coast Guard helicopter is responding to the scene and is inquiring if they are being requested to transport the patient from the beach to the ambulance or if they are being requested to fly the patient directly to the hospital. Per Peninsula IC, the Paramedic is still assessing and will advise

The City Ambulance is reporting that they have accessed the patient from Peninsula and Orange. Battalion 8201 is on scene and assuming Peninsula IC

Engine 8215, and Chief 8601 are in the area at the end of Lupin Dr. making access to the beach through the gate. The patient is reported to be 1/2 mile south of their location. They are bringing a stokes basket to carry the patient out

Samoa, Motorcycle Collision: Arcata Fire, Samoa Fire and Arcata Ambulance responding to the area of Peninsula Drive in Samoa for a motorcyclist down on the beach at the waterline. The patient is reported to have a compound femur fracture. Arcata Battalion 8201 requesting Coast Guard be requested for a helicopter
