FULL TIME - 35 hours per week (non-exempt position).

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $21.00-$23.00/hour

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The CalFresh Healthy Living (CFHL SNAP-Ed) Program supports healthy, active, and nourished lifestyles by teaching about good nutrition, how to stretch food dollars, and physical activity. The CalFresh Expansion Program provides direct application assistance to eligible adults over the phone and in-person and conducts outreach to ensure all eligible adults understand benefits, including the newly eligible SSI recipients. The Staying Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) exercise classes are evidence based and use trained volunteers to build strength and balance to prevent older adults from falling.
Under direct supervision of the Social Services Manager, the CalFresh Service Coordinator will facilitate outreach, application assistance, and direct education related to the CalFresh Expansion and CalFresh Healthy Living Programs. This position will also oversee the SAIL program. In these roles, the Coordinator will provide primary support for and supervision of CalFresh and SAIL volunteers. This position could be based in either Humboldt or Del Norte County. Travel in both counties required. May be required to work weekends.

DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE AND SUCCESS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS IS ESSENTIAL
● Ability to communicate with older adults, their caregivers, and their families, demonstrating respect, sensitivity, and support.
● Strong interpersonal and presentation skills: public speaking experience required.
● Ability to effectively instruct in a small or large group setting.
● Excellent planning, prioritizing, and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
● Strong ability to consistently exercise good judgment while analyzing and solving problems.
● Ability to function as a cooperative, fun, and flexible team member and relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
● Ability to work independently while adhering to Agency policies and checking in when appropriate.
● Computer skills, including Google Suites and Microsoft Office. Experience with various databases preferred.
