Weed Feed: Blue Moon Creator Brews Marijuana-Infused Drink That Mimics Effects of Beer
The creator of the popular Belgian-style ale Blue Moon is working on a concoction of marijuana-infused suds that will reportedly intoxicate people at the same pace as drinking a beer, USA Today reports.
“The drinks, served chilled and initially only available in Colorado this fall, will contain no alcohol but will instead be infused with special marijuana formulas designed to mimic the effects of booze,” the USA Today article reads.
The beer will come in three different strengths, Forbes reports, allowing people to get high at their own speed.
“Now we’re going to bring cannabis to the educated beer-drinking masses,” Blue Moon creator Keith Villa told Forbes. “We’re at the same instance that craft beer was back in the ‘90s.”
KFSN in Fresno reports that Villa plans to sell the beer in other marijuana-friendly states like California after its initial Colorado launch.
