Weed Feed: President Trump to Focus on Marijuana Reform After Midterm Elections, Congressman Says
President Trump will aim to legalize medical marijuana at the federal level after the midterm elections, house representative Dana Rohrabacher told Fox Business last week.
The Republican representative from California reportedly confirmed with people in the president’s inner circle, that Trump plans to keep his campaign promise of reforming medical marijuana laws at the federal level, while allowing states to regulate their own recreational marijuana laws.
“I have been talking to people inside the White House who know and inside the president’s entourage… I have talked to them at length,” Rohrabacher is quoted as saying by Fox Business. “I have been reassured that the president intends on keeping his campaign promise.”
Rohrabacher said that the Trump administration could shift its focus toward the issue as early as spring of 2019, and that reformation work will “definitely” begin during the next legislative session.
