From the Sheriff’s Office:

On 05-04-2011 at about 1200 hours, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were investigating a report of trespassers on private timber company property, located in the Cumming Creek area off Highway 36, Carlotta.

While checking the property, Deputies located approximately 9,900 marijuana plants that were about 1 inch in height. Deputies found a campsite near the marijuana garden. When Deputies searched the campsite they discovered through different items in the campsite that Hispanic suspects were possibly cultivating this marijuana garden. No suspects were located in the area.

This case is still under investigation.
