UPDATE, 3:45 p.m.: City of Eureka press release:

The City of Eureka Public Works Department has completed repairs on one waterline break and is nearly complete on the 2nd line repair. Residents who experience discoloration in their water should let the water run for a short while to flush out pipes. The City’s water supply is safe to drink and use. Thank you for your patience while City crews worked to repair the lines.

UPDATE, 12:10 p.m.: A source from the city is telling us that everything should be back to normal pretty soon. Expect an announcement.

Everything seems copacetic in my corner of the 03, but apparently that is the exception. A robocall just announced that water is out for “most” customers.

Press release:

On 11/5/11, during the early morning hours, two water mains in the City of Eureka broke resulting in low, or no, water pressure for many Eureka residents. The City of Eureka’s Public Works Department is aware of the breaks and is working to restore water pressure as soon as possible.

The Eureka Police Department asks citizens to refrain from calling 911 or the non-emergency dispatch phone number regarding this incident.
