UPDATE:The CHP spokesman Matthew Harvey issued a press release this morning:

 
On June 9, 2012, at 8:30 PM,  a 47 year old resident of Redway, CA, was driving his 1998 Honda ST1100 on Empire Avenue southbound approaching Redway Drive at an extremely high rate of speed.  As the driver attempted to slow for the intersection at Redway Drive, he lost control and proceeded through the intersection and across the front yard of a residence.  The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and he subsequently collided into the front of the residence.  On-scene CHP Officers performed CPR, but were unable to revive the driver.  The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver was wearing a helmet and DUI as a factor is still under investigation.  The intersection of Redway Drive at Empire Avenue was closed for approximately 2 hours.  The driver’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The CHP site is reporting a fatality in Redway.  Details are sketchy but the accident occurred around 8:30 P.M. on Redway Drive.
