A major accident early Sunday morning claimed the life of at least one local youth and left at least one other one in the hospital.  The CHP site listed this as an accident with major injuries but local sources have noted that one person has died.  The report says that a vehicle hit a redwood tree and overturned. A local source indicated that there are flowers against a tree north of Miranda but south of Cathey Road.
