UPDATE 8:54 P.M.: Power restored to all customers, said a PG&E spokesperson.  The cause of the outage has still not been determined though.

Original post:Power went out in McKinleyville and a portion of Arcata this afternoon.  The majority of people lost power around 4:20 P.M. (hold the laughing to a dull roar please.) The outage affected around 2550 customers at first but power has been restored to some of those affected.  Currently, 1280 households have no electricity.

PG&E is still investigating the cause of the outage so they are unable to give an estimated time for restoration.
