PG&E’s Brittany McKannay just left a message on the LoCOWire confirming that yes, the big bird flying low all around Humboldt County yesterday was on a mission from the utility, confirming what we heard from law enforcement earlier today.
McKannay said that she was in meetings all morning and has not as yet been able to determine what the chopper was surveying — electric lines, gas lines, vegetation, endless possibilities — but she’s put out feelers down each of the corporate octopus’s arms and promises to have an answer for us soon.
