A new fountain is gracing McKinleyville at the corner of Murray and Central near the high school.

Pennie Locklin who sent the above photo says, “Looks like someone hit a fire hydrant within the last 10-15 mins. Police are directing traffic.”

UPDATE 9:15 A.M.: According to Greg Orsini of the McKinleyville Water District, a semi headed east on Murray was trying to turn south on Central when one of his tires caught the fire hydrant.  A member of the public contacted the water district and an employee was able to get on the site within minutes and close a valve.  This stopped the fountain.
