Yesterday, Mark McKenna, a LoCO photographer, again jumped into the 24th Annual Redwood Coast Jazz Festival this time capturing the energetic joy of the dance contest.

Nellie Hunt, 4, of Langlois, Oregon dances between performances of dance contestants at the Muni on Saturday. Her mother Dov said this was the first time they have attended the festival, but are regulars at the Coos Bay festival.

Stompy Jones provided the music during the Jazz Festival dance contest finals at the Muni on Saturday.

Contestants perform during the final round of judging. The finalists danced as a group to one song and then each had two thirty second solo performances during a second song.
