Here’s the latest post in LoCO‘s “Be On the Lookout” series, where we highlight stolen items (in this case the item may have been lost and later found) and ask you to help by reporting any sighting to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Your Lost Coast Outpost was contacted by a Eureka woman who had her bike ganked last night from the backyard of her Eureka home, located on 14th Street near the corner of B Street. She describes the departed as “an old, orange Italian folding bike from the ’60s.” At the time it was stolen, the bike had lock cables attached to it and a milk crate affixed to the back rack with a bungee cord.

“Whole thing is kinda rusty,” the burglary victim told LoCO via email. She went on to provide the thief with a kind warning: “I love it, but it’s a janky little deathtrap if you don’t know how to ride it, and whatever poor unfortunate soul stole it will certainly meet with Karma soon, probably in the form of a face-first crash into the pavement.”

Protect your face, crook! The bike has been reported stolen with the Eureka Police Department. You can drop it off with them. Or, if anyone else spots it, call 441-4060.
