Shauna Foster, 41, of Rio Dell passed away Friday, August 7, after battling a short fight with cancer.

She was born on June 8, 1974, to Cindy and David Foster at General Hospital in Eureka, a beautiful baby girl so full of life and love. Shauna attended Scotia Elementary School until fifth grade and finished the remaining years of her childhood graduating at Rio Dell Elementary School. Shauna then continued her high school years and graduated from East High. Shauna enjoyed cheerleading as a young girl, along with swimming, basketball, dancing and singing.

Shauna lived for her children, family and friends, and made memories that will never be forgotten. She had a laugh that many will remember her by. Shauna lived life by the moment and enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She loved to talk and tell stories to her friends and loved ones. She was a friend to all and didn’t know a stranger.

Shauna is preceded in death by her father, David A. Foster; grandfather, Albert W. Kurtz; grandparents, Laverne and George Thurman and her grandfather Arthur D. Foster.

Shauna is survived by her two precious daughters, Tessa Ellebrecht (Phillip Ellebrecht) and Breanna Foster-Vaughan; her grandchildren Christiana, Caidence, and Phillip Ellebrecht; her long-time love, Terry Vaughan; her mother & step-father, Cindy & Albert Morgan; her sister, Shannon Foster, brother, Derrick Foster, and her grandmother Nancy Kurtz (Noni). Shauna is also survived by her step-children, Kimberly Christopher, Luke Vaughan, Mindy Vaughan, Mark Vaughan, Troy Vaughan, Kory Vaughan and Matthew Stevens. Also, she is survived by her niece Ashley Elam (Cody and Kameron Elam), her nephew Jacob Overholt and a very dear cousin, Jeremy Kurtz, her “twin.” She is also survived many aunts, uncles, and cousins who were very dear to her.

We will be having a Celebration of Life “Potluck” for Shauna on Saturday, August 15th at the Rio Dell Fire Dept. from 1-4 pm. Please come and celebrate her life with us and share your favorite stories.
