A two-vehicle car crash near the intersection of Union Street in Eureka has closed Buhne for the time being, as police process the scene and tow trucks remove the wreckage.

While sweeping up glass and debris, Officer Tim Jones of the Eureka Police Department told the Outpost’s Andrew Goff that the service truck below was traveling westbound on Buhne when the other vehicle pulled out from a stop sign.

Residents who live on this corner tell the Outpost that they have tried to get the city to install a four-way stop here for some time, going so far as to take up a collection to raise the money themselves. So far, no stop sign.

There were no injuries.
