The Saddle Fire has crossed over into Humboldt County as of Saturday morning and is expected to keep moving west throughout the day.

According to this morning’s update from incident managers, there are now 502 people fighting Northern California’s largest wildfire so far this year, which stands at an estimated 1,331 acres. The fire is only five percent contained.

The forecast is for continued hot and dry weather in the area today, but firefighters are expected cooler temperatures and higher humidity Sunday, which would aid efforts to get the fire under control.
