William Casey Peters, 62, died on Thursday, October 15, 2015 in San Francisco, CA.

Willy was born on August 11, 1953 (thus cementing his “lucky #11”) in Los Angeles, CA to William and Elizabeth (Doty) Peters. He met Ivy Gates in 1980 — it was love at first sight — and they married in 1989. Together they fully lived the family adventure with their 3 children. Days on the Trinity River are forever embedded in our hearts.

Willy worked as a carpenter most of his life, spending his free time pursuing his multiple hobbies and interests. He was an excellent and fun loving golfer, serving as President of Willow Creek Golf and Country Club Membership and representing them at tournaments around the state. Other hobbies included fishing, coin collecting, and nearly 40 years of fantasy football. Willy lived the dream of every horse lover, attending each of the Triple Crown events with his brother, John.

Willy is survived by his wife, Ivy and their children, beloved daughter, Natalie Peters and grandson, Kaiden, 7, and son Nathan Harveston, (Mimi) grandchildren Noah, 3 and Grace, 6 months. He also leaves behind two brothers, John Peters (Rita) and Chris Peters of Redding, CA. and nephew, Quinn Peters and family of Washington DC. Willy was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Cale.

The family especially recognizes Willy as a beloved friend, uncle and brother to so many people, including in-laws, too numerous to name, who were touched by him throughout his life. His friendly smile and genuinely kind and interested attitude towards others will be heart fully missed. Our special love goes out to Cap Kramer, Mike Sloyer, Johnny Marquez and Lionel Lee. Willow Creek will never be the same for many of us.

A Celebration of Life is planned at Bigfoot Golf and Country Club in Willow Creek on Saturday, November 7 at 1 p.m. Please bring a photo and a story to share. If you would like to help or have a photo for the slide show, please contact Natalie Peters at nk08@hotmail.com
