A Humboldt State University police officer suffered minor injuries following the accidental discharge of a firearm this afternoon. The incident took place near the corner of Harpst and Rossow streets.

A call came over the scanner shortly after 1:35 p.m. calling for an ambulance to respond to 1 Harpst Street on the HSU campus. University spokesman Jarad Petroske could only confirm a few details.
