Arcata was traumatized one morning last month when an apparently deranged man attacked an elementary school student who was walking to school.

In response, city government, the school district and HSU have organized a rapid-response community meeting to discuss how to make safe routes to school even safer. The meeting’s tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. at the D Street Neighborhood Center.
