With all the water that’s spurted out onto Humboldt County in the last few months, our river are lookin’ mighty healthy.

Which is great for the environment, but no so great for Trinidad to Clam Beach Run river crossers.

Local photographer Erik Fraser sent LoCO the above drone footage of runners yanking themselves across waist-high water with rope as they attempted to cross the mouth of the Little River at Moonstone Beach.

To put some perspective on the water fluctuating water levels, watch the Times-Standard video below of the river crossing from two years ago.

The Trinidad to Clam Beach Run is an annual event that started as a winter training race for Humboldt State track and field runners. It has since become a popular event that attracts runners from around the county.
