Cole Jack Machado passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 2, 2017, at the young age of 31.

Cole was born in Humboldt  to Alvin Machado and Sherrie Cruz. Cole entered this world small but fierce, weighing under two pounds. Beating the odds against him at birth, Cole grew into a vibrant young adult full of adventure. Cole spent his early adult years being a spokesperson and advocate for the many different causes he felt strongly about, and serving on various boards throughout our community. Cole was an entrepreneur who did not shy away from a business adventure.

Cole is preceded in death by his grandmother, Marjorie (Margie) Smith, and grandfather, Alvin Machado Sr. He is survived by his father, Alvin Machado Jr. (Fortuna); mother, Sherrie Cruz (Eureka); grandmother, Mary DeMars (Eureka);  brother, Cody Machado (Rio Dell); sister, Sylvia Wigley (Couer’ d’Alene, Idaho); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cole was fortunate enough to have friends and family who were there to experience life’s adventures with him, whether they be good or challenging. Like most who think they have more time with loved ones, the family is no different and now must live with only the memories they have. Support for the family during this difficult time is greatly appreciated.
