Spring is here, and with it a new round of construction on Highway 36. And with that construction comes a serious closure schedule that you should definitely be aware of if you plan on getting your kicks on Route 36 anytime soon.

Short story: The road between Bridgeville and Dinsmore is going to be completely closed to through traffic almost all day long, most weekdays for the foreseeable future. (Unless you are a first responder.) Full schedule below, and more detail than you will know what to do with at this link.

This is all part of a federally funded project to make Highway 36 a little more manageable and less scary.

From Caltrans:

State Route 36 will be closed in Both Directions during the following time frames:

  • Mondays through Thursdays: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Only Emergency Service Providers will be allowed through closures.

State Route 36 will remain accessible throughout weekends for the duration of this project.
