Sean Thomas Bailie passed away on August 8, 2018. He had battled with Congestive Heart Failure and Type II Diabetes for the past 18 years.

Sean was born on January 9, 1954 in Montreal, Canada. He immigrated with his father, Thomas P. Bailie, mother, Rose Morgan Bailie, and sisters to the United States, arriving in San Francisco, CA in 1958. Sean attended St. James Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School (Class of 1972) in San Francisco. He continued on to City College of San Francisco and San Francisco State University. He started working in the insurance industry as a file clerk in 1970 and retired as of President of his own insurance brokerage company in 2001.

Sean is survived by his wife Robin Alexander Bailie, his sons Kevin Bailie (Dee Dee) and Evin Peters (Heather), daughter, Bridgid Babb (Marcus), grandchildren Maddox, Scarlett, Morgan, Dylan, Jordin and Boston, sisters Brenda Moon, known as Dendy, Rosemary Bailie Kaufman and Gabrielle Bailie Landrum, nephew Mark Moon, and nieces Christine Landrum Jeffers and Cathleen Landrum Schaffer, and many great nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents and his nephew Michael Moon.

Sean loved to read and enjoyed fishing and golf. During his lifetime, he was a member of the Olympic Club of San Francisco, The San Francisco Commercial Club and The Bankers Club of San Francisco. After retiring, he served as a volunteer for CityTeam Ministries of San Jose CA in the role of Corporate Risk Manager. Sean was a natural leader and a strong believer in a positive mental attitude. He was opinionated and a conservative to boot (but you always knew where he stood). But most of all he loved his family unconditionally and was supremely proud of his three children.

At Sean’s request, there will be no memorial service.

Should you choose to consider a gift in his memory he would ask that you support either:

  • The Sean & Robin Bailie Veterans Scholarship Endowment at Humboldt State University, c/o of the Gift Processing Center, 1 Harpst St., Arcata, CA 95521
